A calcium reactor is one of the most efficient methods of supplying calcium to a reef aquarium. A calcium reactor is a device used to create a balance of alkalinity in the system. An acidic solution is produced by injecting carbon dioxide into a chamber with salt water and calcium rich media.

Protein Skimmers

A protein skimmer is a device used mostly in saltwater aquaria to remove organic compounds from the water before they break down into nitrogenous waste. Protein skimming is the only form of filtration that physically removes organic compounds before they begin to decompose, lightening the load on the biological filter and improving the water's redox potential.

Ultraviolet Sterilizers

Ultraviolet Sterilizers are often used in aquaria and ponds to help control unwanted microorganisms in the water. Continuous ultraviolet sterilization of the aquarium water eliminates single-cell algae and thereby increase water clarity. UV radiation also ensures that disease-causing pathogens cannot reproduce, thus decreasing the possibility of a disease outbreak in an aquarium.

We were there in the beginning being one of the first stores in the nation to become an all saltwater store. We were innovative from the start being the first to sell presalted water to our customers over twenty years ago. Through the years we have been proud to have been cited in numerous industry resource books such as Julian Sprungs, The Reef Aquarium Vol II.
